Privacy Policy - Smarter Events
Updated: 20 March, 2026
Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the Smarter Events mobile application (Android) and our hosted backend services that receive webhooks, process events, and deliver push notifications. By using Smarter Events, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Information we collect
- Account and authentication: When you create an account or sign in, we may collect identifiers such as your email address, username (if you register with email and password), or authentication tokens from providers you choose (for example Google Sign-In or Apple Sign-In). This is used to identify your account and secure access to the service.
- Service and configuration data: To operate the product, we store settings you provide, such as connector configurations, routing rules, templates, API keys or tokens you supply for integrations, and metadata about events processed through the service.
- Webhook and event content: Payloads and headers sent to your configured incoming endpoints, and derived or forwarded event data, are processed and may be stored so you can view history, debug, and use Connect features. Content depends on what you or third-party systems send; avoid sending unnecessary personal data in payloads.
- Push notifications (FCM): We use Firebase Cloud Messagingto register your device and send notifications. Google processes the device token and message delivery according to Google's policies.
- Purchases: In-app purchases for credit packs are processed by Google Play. We receive information needed to validate purchases and credit your account (for example product identifiers and purchase tokens); we do not receive your full payment card details from Google Play.
- Device and technical data: We may collect device type, operating system, app version, and similar technical information needed to run the service, secure accounts, and improve reliability.
- Crash and diagnostics: We may use Google Firebase services (such as Crashlytics or Analytics) on Android to diagnose crashes and understand aggregate usage. These tools do not need to include the full body of your webhook payloads in reports; we configure them to focus on app health.
How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Smarter Events service (webhooks, routing, notifications).
- Authenticate you and protect accounts from abuse.
- Meter usage and apply credits fairly.
- Send service-related notifications and, where allowed, push alerts about events you configure.
- Improve security, fix bugs, and understand aggregate usage trends.
Legal bases (where applicable)
Depending on your region, we rely on appropriate bases such as performance of a contract (providing the service), legitimate interests (security and improvement), and consent where required (for example certain optional features or marketing, if offered).
Sharing of information
- Infrastructure providers: We use trusted providers (for example cloud hosting, databases, Firebase) to run the service. They process data only as needed to provide our service.
- Google:Google processes data in connection with Google Sign-In, Google Play Billing, Firebase, and FCM as described in Google's policies.
- We do not sell your personal information. We do not share webhook content with advertisers.
Data retention
We retain account and service data for as long as your account is active and as needed to comply with law, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Event and webhook-related data may be retained for a limited period for operational and troubleshooting purposes; you may request deletion as described below where applicable.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) between the app and our services. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we work to protect your data appropriately.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email below. You can also adjust notification preferences in the app where available, and manage Google account permissions via Google's tools.
Account deletion (Smarter Events)
The fastest way to delete your Smarter Events account is in the app: open Settings and use Delete account (you may need to type DELETE to confirm). That requests deletion of your account and associated personal data we hold about you. Alternatively, you can email smartertechnologist @t gmail.com from the email address linked to your account (or describe how we can verify you). Use the subject line "Smarter Events account deletion" if possible. We will confirm receipt (for email requests) and, after verifying your identity where needed, delete or anonymize your account and associated profile data (such as your username, stored credentials references, connector and template configuration you stored with us, and event history tied to your account), except where we must retain limited information to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our terms (for example audit logs for a limited period). Push notification tokens are removed when the account is closed or tokens are invalidated.
Without deleting your account, you may be able to delete some data in the app (for example clearing stored events) where the app provides that option; retention of events may also follow your plan and in-app data retention settings.
Children's privacy
Smarter Events is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries where we or our providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
Changes to this privacy policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the "Updated" date. For material changes, we may provide additional notice (for example in the app). Continued use after changes means you accept the updated policy.
